At the sweet tender age of just seventeen
She became known as the local beauty queen
She prays every night for someone to hold
But in the school yard she was already sold

For popularity is just a shallow grave
Her innocence taken by a guy called Dave
She screamed and she pleaded for him to stop
Till there were no more tears left to drop

She felt something growing taking her whole
It was in that moment she gave up her soul
Dave was confused but he started running
But our beauty queen was far too cunning

Filled with anger she now seeks her revenge
For the pain that seemed to go on with no end
Seeking out Dave she enjoys watching him cry
As he begs and pleads her to not let him die

She goes home to wash her pale hands clean
As her once beautiful smile begins to gleam
She’ll finish her job and rule her hometown
As she puts on her head her bloody jewelled crown

The streets are splattered with the colour red
Bodies scattered; each one of them dead
At the sweet tender age of just seventeen
She became known as the local killer queen
This was inspired by the movie Carrie I recently watched at my cinema. I still can’t quite get the whole poem to flow smoothly into each other but I feel the more I do this the better I get, overall I’m really quite happy with this. It amazes me just how hard putting a poem together can be. Some people are naturally good at stringing words together but others (like me) just need more practise =)

A surprising and, this may sound a little odd, but fun poem. Twice you changed my expectations of where you were going this- the twist at the end was great, a classic "B" movie horror theme-

I thought the flow was pretty decent- you might be able to tweak some of the lines to perfect it, but Im not sure you need to. There wasnt anything that stood apart as being out of place or off.
